About Patrick Morrisey

Patrick Morrisey is the 37th Governor of West Virginia. He was inaugurated on January 13, 2025 after winning the November 2024 general election.

Before serving as Governor, Morrisey served three terms as Attorney General of West Virginia from 2013 to 2025 — the first Republican to hold that office in the state in more than 80 years.

Governor Morrisey was born in New Jersey and holds a law degree from Rutgers University. He and his wife Denise live in Charleston.
