Kent Leonhardt

Kent Leonhardt is the Commissioner of Agriculture of West Virginia. He was first elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020 and 2024. His current term began on January 13, 2025.

Before his election, Commissioner Leonhardt served in the West Virginia Senate representing the 2nd Senatorial District and served for more than 21 years as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Commissioner Leonhardt owns a farm in Monongalia County and holds degrees from the University of Missouri and Central Michigan University.
